Battle for top NYC street chef

You can find them on almost any street corner of New York City: your local street food vendors. Serving the masses from their open-air kitchens. Day and night, hot and cold. The city boasts some 6,000 food cart and trucks. But not all vendors are created equal. Street food has moved well beyond hot dog carts and peanut stands. Now you can find dumpling trucks, waffle trucks and almost everything in between.

To celebrate and recognize some of the top food chefs in New York, the Vendy Awards were established. Now in its fifth year, the competition has even paved the way for some to open an actual restaurant.

Great video, thoroughly enjoyed watching it, good team. Some good talent developing at CNN. Too bad you can't include the smells o f the vendors in the video.

If you truly want an interesting and compelling story about "the new breed" of street vendors, look into Street Sweets ( streetsweetsny.com ). From their 44 combind years of corporate service this husband and wife team that created & operates Street Sweets have an incredible story to tell that I am certain your viewers would be interested in hearing.
