Secret Societies: Freemasons

Posted: 02:21 PM ET

You know their names. You probably heard the rumors. Now get the facts.

Five million people around the world are believed to be members. More of them than you might think are in positions of power in Washington, and that has led to plenty of conspiracy theories about masons controlling our government. We put Tom Foreman on the case to get the real story.

Campbell, if you really wanted to do this topic any justice you should have started with the "Bohemian Club" and/or "Skull and Bones".
CNN contributor David Gergen will be most unhappy to sit and talk with you about it.

Honestly, somebody really ought to explain why world leaders secretly gather in a secluded redwood forest in California every year and perform obstensibly mock human sacrifices. Video of this has been available on the internet for quite some time now, why is there never any coverage of this in the news?!!

lex steenkist   November 12th, 2009 8:13 pm ET

good show but you left out the part where the freemasons have a patron saint who is Moloch (satins right hand angel),He is covered in mothers tears and babies blood.Say no to The New World Mason Order

Lisa   November 12th, 2009 8:26 pm ET

Really, it is just another fraternity, Conspiracy theories are great though and they make the best movies!

My comment is to Lisa, It's okay to have one's own beliefs and its okay to have an opinion. But even better, if you have done research on your own to know the truth! But hey, you are in great company because there are still many people, especially in Germany who belive the Holocaust never really happened either! Hmmmm!

Michael   November 12th, 2009 9:22 pm ET

Right on Lex! There is even video of Bohemian Grove members praying to Moloch! This coverage is so bland my dead grandmother could do more in-depth uncovering than this presentation.

Please, is this what 'investigative' journalism has come to in this world of 24 hour veneer reporting. What's next, a conversation with Ahmahdinejad about whether the Hardliners are consolidating power in Iran? What about Putin on 'power sharing' in the new Russia, or maybe Pres Secretary Gibbs on the Socialisic' aspects of the new Progressive ' administration.
I was just beginning to garner some respect for Ms brown and her 'non-parisan' viewpoint. As a conservative Independent, I have seen many presentations on these so-called secret societies, but at least they did some home work. This piece wouldn't even make the cut in Journalism school. having worked with some real professionals, I can unequivocally say this is not journalism at it's best.
Try again!

Greetings, I love your show!

The best selling novel, 'The Last Pope' was reportedly written in direct collaboration by the actual assassin of Pope Paul who directly places the American CIA squarely as the organization behind that murder.

Pope Paul was deeply upset by a CIA operation in South America at that time which had a tremendous blow back upon the lives of innocent civilians. Pope Paul was also apparently upset with the CIA's involvement with the Vatican Bank.

George W. Bush sr., was a member of the skull and bones organization and was the director of the CIA mere months before Pope Paul was murdered.

What does planning and murdering a Pope say about Family Values?

Campbell,I watch your show every night and I'm proud of you for bring this up,but I feel alot is being discussed about these CULT people. In the work place they are prejudice people who look after their own and make sure they are taken care of before the average Joe . Weather they can do the work or not ! The greet each other with their Secret Hand Shake and look who doesn't have the ring. Then it's seek and destroy that person. There charity work is a smoke screen for their corrupt behavior! They have a saying I'm traveling Brother which they don't speak about, but is well know what they are saying.Keep up the good reporting and watch these secret societies

Gary Cooper   November 13th, 2009 2:39 pm ET

Hi Campbell
your reprot on skull and bones was about as far oof the mark as it could get.
The skull and bones is not as simple as the young lady woulld like you to believe. Campbell do some checking on your on.

A. Smith   November 13th, 2009 3:57 pm ET

Many of the founding members of America that became Presidents later in their lives, were Free Masons. Many of the American Presidents are Free Masons.

Christians loudly proclaim the 'christian' values of the founding fathers. That is a outrageous lie. The founding fathers, many of whom were Free Masons were expressly forbidden to attend any of the Roman Catholic churches and were ex-communicated from them by the Pope himself.

Free Masons believe in the Creator and uphold the right to worship the Creator in any manner than that which is dictated by the self-titled leader of Christianity, The Pope.

Please people! Get a life! You are all victims of fear. Fear of the unknown. After awhile, fear begets hate. The Freemasons have done nothing but make good men better. They donate 2 million dollars a day to charities. It's a fraternity! Find another hobby!!!
